Our Story
Our Founder

Sarah Holmes, Founder of Miles Together, is a high school senior from Middlebury, Vermont. During her semester away at the Island School—a program dedicated to sustainability, impact, and leadership—Sarah learned the importance of exercise as a source of empowerment. As part of the program, Sarah trained with her peers to prepare for a four-mile ocean swim. The daily training built her strength and confidence while the support of her peers taught her about the power of exercising together to accomplish a collective goal. Building on her experience of exercise as a source of empowerment, she launched Miles Together, a platform for people from all over the country to inspire change through collective movement.
The Organization

Miles Together is a non-profit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for people to move together in support of civil rights, equity and social justice. We create virtual athletic events that empower people to come together and fundraise for specific social causes. Exercise is empowering. Together we can inspire change, one step at a time.
